THE WAY I SEE IT Starbucks coffee house has recently engaged in a controversial campaign called “the way I see it”. This campaign has drawn much criticism and even calls for boycotts because some of the author’s opinions are just plain sinful. I will admit I too felt the initial urge to denounce and boycott Starbucks until I read what Rick Warren was doing with them. Rick is one of the many authors who has a say on the cups. It is there on the side of the cup that he tells people that God has a plan for their life. The way I see it, we can boycott the world and tell them what we are against, or transform the world by telling and showing them who we are for. God Bless, Steve Steve King

The Little Things
THE LITTLE THINGS I don’t know about you, but I for one can become very disheartened about the lack of customer service we find today. Last week alone I had two incidents that left me wondering how people stay in business these days and then it happened. I was in a grocery store and someone actually cared about me, the customer. I know that I often times look for the spiritual lesson in very common things but here is what happened: - I was in unfamiliar territory. I hardly ever shop for groceries and someone engaged me in conversation
- I was in need and had not yet realized it- the kind employee addressed that need by saying I can always tell when someone is about to have more than they can handle
- I was thankful- someone noticed me, cared about me, and helped me
Now apply this lesson to a lost world that does not know Jesus. Often times spiritual matters are very unfamiliar territory for them. They have a real need but don’t know who can meet that need, and ultimately they should be thankful that you noticed, cared, and helped. The little things still mean so much. Do the little things and introduce someone to a great big loving Savior. In His Love, Steve Steve King

UNDER REVIEW
With the passing of yet another Super Bowl the great discussion seems to be about certain plays that were reviewed and seemingly still missed, or questionable. The question used to be should there be replay officials? Now people ask why do we have them if they are still missing calls?
The truth is you cannot remove the element of human error whether it is on the field or in the booth.
I am thankful that our lives are viewed by a perfect loving God of grace. A God who knows fully well that we don’t deserve being in His presence and eternity in heaven. A God who chose to send His Son to make the ultimate sacrifice for us. A God who chooses to look and see the blood of Jesus instead of our vile deeds. Thank Him for salvation today and prepare for the Judgment Seat of Christ where our works will be judged by one who makes no mistakes.
God Bless,
Steve

Owners or Stewards?
It often amazes me that people will actually send hard earned money to some of these star registries. I’m sure that it has some short lived romantic appeal, but who ever decided the star was for sale in the first place? Can I buy half a star or maybe just a point of the star? Can the stars be sold more than once? Can my star be seen or does it exist outside the scope of modern technology? I know what my wife would say to me if I presented to her a piece of paper with a star named in her honor. She would say something like you’ve got exactly one hour to bring me a real gift you cheap-o. In reality the stars are not ours to sale or to purchase. Genesis 1.16 says it was God who made the stars also. I believe there is a lesson for us to learn and apply here as it relates to stewardship. Too often we see our resources and gifts as things we have earned or deserve and therefore have discretion over. That is the attitude of the owner. However, Jesus speaks on multiple occasions about stewards. Paul spoke of himself as a steward (1 Cor.9.17). Embracing this truth, we can be used greatly by the Lord. Just as they are His stars, our gifts are His gifts, and are to be used for His glory. Steve King
